How small projects make history

WG Hostel is small, but historic: Our Hostel is the world's very first "WG Hostel".  When we first opened our house to up to 28 guests, we had the idea to create something new. "WG Hostel" was meant to be a hostel plus WG (= shared living community of locals) in one place.  At this time, there was nothing else like this, but of course, many places were inspired to overthink their concept of a hostel and intended to build up their own "WG Hostel."  Thus, WG-Hostel became the name of a new type of travelling: Live like a local in a shared house with locals.

Today, our guests can choose the grade of privacy and what they want to share: Our flats come with private bath and private kitchen. However, you can still meet up with other guests and tenants in any of our public places. Our rooms come with a private sleeping room with access to a shared bath and kitchen. This is the original version of a "WG life". And finally, our dorms, are the original version of a hostel coming with shared dorms, bath and kitchen.

The popular WG Hostel in Mönchengladbach is only one of many projects of the WG MG - WohnGemeinschaft MönchenGladbach. We organise events and support students and creative people with a variety of projects. With WG Hostel we wanted to create a new thinking of international and local exchange, which we did. For more information about the WG MG, just check out the website: www.WG-MG.de
